“I have been a regular at CCC from its very first VIP pre-opening party.  Julius built me a fine ramp but did not know it at the time it would be for me.

This place is very special to me.

I’m in a wheelchair amongst people who are sitting and enjoying cigars and/or libations.  It’s like a paradox. I’m also with standing people but (in my view) they are actually sitting … and I’m sitting with them.  They’re in no hurry, the whole purpose is to relax and I get to do that with others and they accept me as a result. This is a social outlet for me – there are not many places people can go in a wheel chair and enjoy themselves, people take that for granted.”

Lou Alvarado is a welcoming and consistent presence at Cigar City Club.  He can be regarded as a mayor of sorts as he enjoys greeting and socializing with members and guests alike from his coveted spot, directly in front of the humidor.  This former Navy veteran places CCC owner Julius Bolton in high regards as the consummate business man who runs a “tight ship” that has set the atmosphere where he can regard CCC as his second home.

Lou recently completed a 28-day trip to the Stem Cell Institute in Panama to receive a series of stem cell injections.  He is faithful about the results in which this process will lead him… having a chance to walk again.  While the stem cells are doing their “work” Lou is currently taking a break from cigars but insists this will not be one from his CCC friends.  So when you see him say hello, you know where to find him!
